Description of the tour
As one of the largest museums in the world, the Louvre Museum has over 35,000 objects on display from prehistory to the 19th century, spread across more than 650,000 square feet of gallery space.
On 10th August 1793, the Louvre Museum opened its doors to the public for the first time. From a medieval fortress, Renaissance palace and luxurious home to Kings and Emperors, the Louvre has been a symbol of the wealth, power and decadence of the French monarchy for over 600 years.
Your guide will lead you through the galleries of this extraordinary French institution and explain the changing face of the Louvre through its architecture and design . You will marvel at the iconic glass pyramid and admire masterpieces from artists such as David, Géricault, Delacroix and Leonardo da Vinci himself. You will see the most famous artworks: the Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory of Samothrace and the Mona Lisa, painted by da Vinci at the beginning of the 16th century.
At the end of the small group tour, you will have the possibility to spend more time in the Louvre to visit other sections of the museum independently.

Louvre - Had a fantastic tour of the Louvre
Had a fantastic tour of the Louvre with our guide Olivia, she was very nice and extremely knowledgeable! We learned a lot and she encouraged participation. Couldn't have been more pleased.
Louvre - Huge crowds
Our guide was able to help us avoid the huge crowd at the main entrance by taking us to an alternate entrance. Be prepared for HUGE crowds. The Mona Lisa is roped off, so you can't get very close to this small panting. It takes a long time to even get to the rope because 75% of the people are working to get just the right selfie with the painting! There is an overwhelming amount of artwork here. It may be best to decide if there is a certain time period or type of work that you want to see and make that your focus.
Louvre - Highly Recommended !
We arrived at the meeting point and was immediately welcomed by the guide, Oliver. He was very well informed on the Louvre and all the art within. Oliver was well educated and it showed in his presentation. Skip the line entrance is the way to go. It was very crowded and in parts hard to manouver, but that was just a minor problem. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Louvre - Outstanding guide and tour
Our guide was amazing! She was patient with other guests who had special needs and went off to find those who could not find the meeting spot. We started late as a result and she still did not rush us through and was very informative about the pieces in the Louvre and history a od Paris especially! Would highly recommend!
Get on an incredible journey in the footsteps of 19th-century icons, including the Impressionist painters on this small group tour.
