" If you're in Paris, and doing the 'tourist' thing, then this is a good one to do. My wife and I only had a few days in Paris, and we chose this activity for her birthday evening. The boat ride was fun... and a great way to see the major historical sites of Paris. Dinner, to be frank, left a little to be desired. Oh, there was nothing wrong with the food it was excellent... but the entire atmosphere was lacking a little. Four major points I feel I should make are as follows: 1) We were seated at an 'interior' table, well away from any windows. I get the strong impression that all tour customers are seated at these tables. When we asked to be moved to a window table, we were told that we could not be... we would have had to have booked earlier to be granted that privilege. (I don't know where this came from... we booked at least 3 1/2 months prior to the evening.) 2) The menu is as good as set in stone as there is... do not expect to be able to make any requests, because 'the tour gets these specific items'. Oh, and the wine was terrible. 3) We were really made to feel like 'second-class' patrons of the restaurant. Items were literally dropped off at the table as wait staff were on the way to attend to 'regular' customers. 4) In keeping with the Activity Description, my wife and I dressed up for the occasion. My wife wore a very nice cocktail dress, and I wore a shirt tie and jacket. Unfortunately, it seems that the restaurant does not in any way enforce the dress code. In fact I don't believe that a dress code exists. While we were enjoying our dinner, a young man and his girlfriend were seated just a couple of tables away. They were dressed in a manner more appropriate for a road-house on Route 66 in Arizona (not that I have anything against that... I've had a few good meals in Williams AZ in roadhouses...) But, the point is, we were anticipating this evening out for some time, and the fact that we were literally surrounded by others who chose not to dress up for the occasion had the effect of somewhat lessening the 'special-factor' for us. When we understood what was happening, we decided to not let these things bother us too much. We sat back and enjoyed each other's company, and the food. Did I mention that the food was excellent?
