"THE BEST LIVE CABARET I KNOW" SUNDAY TIMES
TOUR DESCRIPTION
You
will start your evening with the pick up from your downtown accommodation in
Paris. Upon arrival at Crazy Horse, you will be welcomed to the finest
place to see the "Art of the Nude" in action at the original Crazy Horse
Cabaret, located right in the heart Paris.
The cabaret has recently been entirely remodeled with newly modular hall, while
retaining all its intimacy, tastefully decorated with lush red velvet, lacquer
and mirrors
Founded by Alain Bernadin, a cultivated monsieur with a great fascination for
the show business, the Crazy Horse has evolved in the past 50 years and entertained
millions of spectators from around the world. After its second opening in its
so called "natural home" in Las Vegas, it has now conquered Asia with a cabaret
in Singapore.
The
Crazy Horse has always moved with the times and trends of society, constantly
adapting and transferring the new styles of music and fashion to its stage.
Each number is cleverly thought and has become an individual show of its own,
with its own choreography, set and lighting.
"Desirs" - the latest creation, 21 septembre 2009, has once again lived up
to its standards of "Art of the Nude". The show has not only preserves its heritage
but has also added a touch of modernity, with some fresh talents. They are as
glamorous, sexy and as sensual as ever. Evocative stage names such as Loulou
d Santiago, Lova Moor, Vanilla Banana etc have been adopted by each dancer.
The program starts
off with a fantastic opening act with "God Save Our Bare Skin" - the entire
troupe of dancers, perfectly synchronize. These group of Buckingham Palace "guards
women" will soon have you standing at attention. Followed by "Second Life",
where an attractive and young woman reveals her dual identity. "Evolution" -
a lovely choreography involving two dancers twisting and intertwining in a sensual,
symmetrical ballet. Next scene ia a more music-hall style, "Champagne Taste",
an amusing number.
This continues with "Vestal Desire" another sublime act by five dancers, appearing
like ancient goddess seducing the spectators with their feminine and graceful
movements, full of fantasy and illusion. This number "Vestal's Desire" is an
homage to the eternal, sensual and magical East.
Among other acts "Legmania" will certainly carry to you paradise while admiring
the legs of these women, which seems endless and at the same time stunning.
One cannot leave Crazy Horse without having seen "Teasing" - Unique of its kind
and true work of art.
After the show our driver will be waiting to chauffeur you back to your accommodation.

The
Early Days (1951-1960)
The
Crazy Horse was founded in 1951 by Alain Bernadin, an amateur
artist and full-time antiques dealer who had long been fascinated
by two seemingly disparate notions - the American Western
movie genre with its mythological saloons and historic legends,
and the beauty of the female form. His first show was
on May 19, 1951, in the basement of a small building
on the avenue George V, near place de l'Alma. It represented
his attempt to break away from the post war fashion strictures
of the Left Bank and the St. Germain des Prés. Although
intrigued by the <> nude shows
being staged by Boris Vian, Bernadin wanted to create
something more striking than the traditional American striptease
and yet
acceptable to a wide audience. He played with light and
color projected on a single girl without choreography.
He experimented with strobe-like effects
and other innovations. Some of his dancers became legends
in their own right, and even today there are fond memories
of Doda d'Hambourg and Rita Renoir.
