The
Sainte Chapelle
The
Sainte Chapelle was built under Saint-Louis to collect the Crown
of Spine and a fragment of the True Cross (of Jesus Christ).
The construction of the Sainte Chapelle was completed into 1248.
The Arrow of the
Sainte Chapelle is less high than that of Notre Dame Cathedral but rises
all the same to 75 meters high. It is long of 36 meters, 17 meters
wide and 42 meters high.
It include two chapels,
the low chapel intended for the servants of the King and the
high chapel reserved to the royal family. The stained glasses,
restored in XIX century, date from XIII century and cover a surface
of 620 square meters. They recall scenes of Old/New
Testament.
