Grand Arch of Defense

During the Sixties, French government made the decision to create the district of Business which missed in Paris. With the concept of the high buildings, The Defense was regarded a long time as a laboratory of architecture comtemporaine.

District which extends on the communes from Puteaux, Courbevoie and Nanterre, it is a high place of the businesses where about 200.000 people comes to work each day. A gigantic shopping centre, a place of exposures and shows (CNIT), a hemispherical cinema (Dome IMAX) humanize this icy decoration.

The Defense is decorated since 1989 by The Grance Arch. Architectural and technical prowess, the Grand Arch is integrated in large historic prespective going until the Concorde Square and crossing the Arch of Triumph.
