Normandy D Day Tour : Battlefields and Landing Beaches day trip from Paris
Let our experienced driver-guide pick you up at your Paris hotel for a journey
through the history of World War II. You will travel to the Beach of Normandy
in a deluxe air-conditioned vehicle. First you will stop at "The Pointe
du Hoc", 90 feet high cliffs, where 225 Rangers landed on the morning of
June 6, 1944. It was one of the strong points of the German fortifications.
Then you will continue your day of remembrance and stop at Colleville sur Mer
to visit the American Cemetery, Overlooking Omaha Beach, which contains over
9,000 white crosses perfectly aligned on 170 acres. A chapel and memorial add
the finishing touches to this moving scene allowing visitors to reflect on the
price of war. You will then leave and stop at other famous WWII locations such
as Arromanches and the vestiges of the artificial harbour (Mulberry Bridge),
Longues-sur-Mer and the German artillery battery, which gave the allied a pounding
on the morning of 6th June. It is actually the only coastal battery to have
kept its guns, giving an impressive picture of what an atlantic wall gun emplacement
was really like. Before returning to your Paris hotel, you will visit the Caen Memorial, a place for reflecting on war in general and
on what WWII meant, and still means, to the world.

Went on the Normandy D-Day tour with my father while on a week long trip to Paris with the family and I must say it was my favorite part of the trip. I have a passion for history and the trip did not dissapoint. The trip was made by our tour guide Bertram. He was friendly and was very knowledgable and I learned a number of things I did not know previously. I am a student of history and this trip was a wonderful memory for me. A great day to spend with my father and an unforgettable day. Thanks Bertram for doing such a great job and being passonate about your work.

The trip to Normandy was absolutely wonderful. It was the highlight of my week in France. It was very educational and very emotional. I recommended the trip to a friend and their family will be booking with you in the near future. Thank you (and thanks to my hotel who recommended your company). Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and helpful in answering any questions we had.

I cannot recommend the Paris City Normandy tour highly enough. Our tour guide, Ricardo, was extraordinary -- his knowledge of French and European history from the earliest times to WWII was so helpful to our understanding of the sites we saw. The tour was very well ordered progressing from today''s quiet Omaha Beach to the cemetery to the museum. An incredible day that stands out as one of our best vacation tour days ever! Thank you!!!
Management response :
Thank you very much Pam. I am sincerely glad to read that Ricardo succeeded in providing you with a memorable day in Normandy. Paul

Pierre, was on time and enjoyable. Very important qualities on a long trip like this one. He had great knowledge of the battlefields and operations that occured there.Having served in the Army for 12 years this was an important visit. He helped create a very memorable day for me. Well done.
Feedback on 10/17/2012 from Martha
Excellent tour, excellent driver and guide (Ricardo). I would highly recommend this tour. It renewed my interest in WWII history and I will definitely return to this area in the future. I want to have much more time in the Peace Museum in Caen than this tour allowed.

Our trip to Normandy was outstanding, the van was comfortable, and our driver/guide was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. It was a full day event with door to door service that was worth the cost.

I couldn''t add anything to help you improve the tour it was above what I expected, the day was great.Tour operater was very excellent.
Feedback on 10/2/2012 from Anne
Our day with Fabrice (spelling??) was terrfic.
He was pleasant, knowledgable and a good driver!
The tour was a good blend of sites visited, and the small van, rather than a cumbersome coach was great for the back roads.
And we very much appreciated being seated in the front of the van, as I had requested. Nice that a request was honored!
Feedback on 10/1/2012 from Edward
Julian was a fantastic guide/driver. Incredible knowledge about the battlefields. Also had a variety of informational items that he had collected that he showed us that gave us visual reinforcement of what he was describing. Nice personal touch. Great recommendations regarding restaurants and other site seeing options. Highly recommend this trip with Julian

Feedback on 9/6/2012 7 from JeanBerry
Marvelous tour and most informative tour guide, Pierre. Pace was good, with great attention to making sure we saw and understood everything. We would have liked even more time at the museum, but there was alot to see all through the day, so appreciated the great information we were given all along.

While visiting in the French Open Paris in early June, my wife and I decided to spend a day touring the Normandy Beaches. After doing our homework online, we selected a minivan tour conducted by Paristrip.com. Although, we are seasoned world travelers, I must say that we were impressed with the quality of the minivan and the extraordinary information their guide, Henridetailed during the 7am-7PM trip. Henri made it highly educational and he was simply a fun guy that kept us laughing along the way. The beaches and surrounding Normandy countryside are breathtakingly beautiful. My wife''s father landed on the beaches at Normandy at D-Day+6; we were able to see where he had landed. It was a moving experience. I would certainly recommend this tour company. They are highly professional and we had a wonderful, memory filled day. We hope to revisit Normandy again and to spend a few days next time for further exploration. We would not hesitate to use their firm again.
Feedback on 8/15/2012 from Tom
I was so happy to find that Bertrand was going to be our guide. I had read a great review about him. He did not disappoint. He provided a very informative and friendly tour. The tour was worth the expense in our group''s opinion. Bertrand was on time, meeting us at the hotel earlier than expected. Highly recommend this trip to anyone!
Feedback on 8/10/2012 from Pedro
Tour was informative and very enjoyable. I was a late booking, so I had to ride up front in the van. It was a little tight, but our tour guide Bertrand was excellent. He was friendly and knowledgable. Pick up and drop off at hotel......No hassle.

I went with my wife in a mini coach tour of the Normandy landings.
I found it very informative and moving at the same time. The driver was
unbelievably knowledgeable about this area. I would recommend this trip to anyone going to France.

WE HAD A WONDERFUL DAY. OUR GUIDE WAS INFORMATIVE, FUN, AND COURTEOUS. PICKED US UP IN PARIS EXACTLY ON TIME AND EVERYTHING WENT PERFECTLY ACCORDING TO SCHEDULE. HAD A LOVELY LUNCH AS SUGGESTED BY OUR GUIDE IN A VERY QUAINT TOWN. IT WAS A MOST MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE.
Feedback on 7/24/2012 from Scott
We did the day trip up to the Normandy beaches and the trip couldn''t have been better. We even had weather like they experienced 70+ years ago which seemed appropriate. Our driver/guide Rupert knew his stuff and delived us back to our hotel on schedule. I would recommend the trip to anyone with an interest in history as well as anyone with even a shred of national pride.
Feedback on 7/22/2012 from Tom Atkins
This was an excellant tour and very informative. Although a student of history I learned some new an interesting facts. The American cemetary was the highlight along with Point Dehoc and the museum
Feedback on 7/21/2012 from Stan
Wow!! The trip to Normandy was one of the most moving experiences I have ever had. I would not have missed this for anything!! Our tour guide was fantastic and the tour of the cemetary at Omaha Beach brought out emotions only veterans like myself could understand. Every American visiting Paris must spend a day (or more) at Normandy. I would recommend this tour to anyone.
Feedback on 7/21/2012 from Frank
Although on the surface the cost may seem expensive, the end result proved the validness of my choice. The trip to Normandy and the landing beaches was a long full day and the the minibus is definitely the way to go. Our driver, Pasgual, was well informed and appeared to like what he was doing. He patiently answered our group''s questions and pointed out many interesting facts as we drove. He was patient when some of us lingered at the various stops, but still kept us somewhat to schedule. I was picked up when promised, and then dropped off at my hotel''s doorstep as he expertly made his way through Paris traffic. Because there was a chance of rain on the coast, after I was seated in the van he ran back to my hotel to borrow an umbrella (which fortunately I did not need as the rain waited for our return ride to start). Highly recommend!!
Management response :
Thank you very much for your note. Yes a day trip to Normandy by minibus "is definitely the way to go" as it allows more flexibility. As you experienced it our tours are run in small group with up to 8 participants which explains the cost that may seem expensive at first. However compare to other Coach Tours (up to 50 participants), our offer ends up beeing not that costly. I am glad you enjoyed your day with Pascal and we look forward to welcoming you again on one of our tours. Paul
Feedback on 7/21/2012 from Marie
The tour was excellent! Our guide was interesting and informative, and we saw exactly what was promised. It couldn''t have been eaiser being picked up and dropped off at the hotel. The size of the group was perfect too.

Our trip to the WWII battlefieds was great. Our tour guide was Bertrain (sp?) who was extremely knowledgeable on the subject and personable. He really made the trip. My husband and I would have liked a little more time in Arromanche and the WWII museum but taking the time to eat lunch with our group was fun. Also we were picked up on time and although it was early (6:30 AM) Bertrain made sure that we stopped for coffee before driving to Normandy. I highly recommend this trip.
Management response :
You are right, this tour is quite an experience not to be missed. It surely leaves early in the morning which explains why we do schedule a stop on the way to Normandy. I am glad to read that Bertrand made the trip as he surely is a nice person and I thank you very much for letting us know about it. We look forward to serving you again on one of your next stay in Paris. Paul
Feedback on 6/7/2012 4 from Morrill
The trip was excellent. Our guide was knowledgeable, had a good sense of humor, and gave us insight into the political sitution in France during the occupation. We were able to visualize the tremendous challenges the Allies faced at Point du Hoc and the beaches. American cemetary was awe inspiring. Every American should have the opportunity to make this journey. Interestingly, most of our group was in their thirties....a great way for them to understand the sacrifices of the "greatest generation".
Feedback on 6/5/2012 5 from Vaughan Hinds
This tour was absoulutly the best. My tour guide Riccardo was nothing but totally professional and freindly .
Everything from early france history to world war 1 and 2 history that was nothing but flawless .
I would recommend this tour and company to anyone anywhere .

Normandy/D-Day sights-This was an incredibly memorable trip. We were fortunate to have Julien who was so knowledgeable, communicative, personable, good humored and thoughtful. We went on one of those rare, Normandy sunny days and had the extra benefit of passing through some small Normandy villages. This trip was one of the highlights of our Paris experience.
Two suggestions even though the entire experience was 5 stars: provide air-conditioning in the car for the rare hot days and reapportion the time so more time is spent at the American cemetery and less time at the Caen Museum. As an added note, we extend our praise to include Jackie (Jacqueline) who was helpful and attentive in every step along the way. Again, thank you for an outstanding tour group.

Was an awesome tour!! We all agreed it was a highlight of our trip to Paris. Although it was pricey, it was worth every penny. The extremely knowledgeable driver spoke perfect English and the hotel pick up/drop off was seamless and stress-free. The small group size was conducive to a friendly atmosphere and enabled us to not feel rushed (like you do on those big bus tours where you are herded on/off the bus and in/out of the sites). Thanks for the truly fabulous day!

Thank you, Paul

Our trip to Normandy was fantastic. Bertrand was a wonderful, kind and informed guide. I teach history and I learned so much from this trip. When I am in France again, I hope Bertrand is still with your company. His helpfulness and eagerness to assist made the trip one of the best parts of my visit to France. Thank you.
Feedback on 5/4/2012 1 from Jane
We highly recommend the minibus tour we took in March from Paris to Normandy. Our guide/driver, Francis, was so knowledgeable about French history and narrated much of the trip to Normandy. He arrived at our hotel at just the assigned time. Our group consisted of only 6 people in the van with Francis and we felt like we had a personal tour guide to show us the highlights of the Normandy beaches, cemetery and museum. This trip was well worth the money we paid!
Feedback on 1/9/2012 5 from Kenneth
Excellent experience. Our guide was superb. He knew the history of the landing as well as the events leading up to the invasion.

The Normandy beaches and Museum Tour was great. We were picked up on time as promised. I wish I could remember the name of our guide. He was wonderful! He knew so much history (answered all of our questions) and had a wonderful sense of humor too. We were able to see some of the countryside along the way as well as the important sites. We loved the museum with all of its artifacts. It was great to tour with a small group. We had an opportunity to meet some interesting people. I would definitely recommend this tour and this company.
Feedback on 11/5/2011 from Michael
Our guide was Francis. He was very knowledgable and very friendly. He spoke about four languages and his English was great. Hotel pick up service was on time and so convenient. I would definitely recommend this over trying to navigate on your own via train or car, especially if you want to get a lot in in one day. It saves so much time. It''s a 2-hour drive to Normandy from Paris so it''s a very early morning start--but definitely worth getting up early for. Visiting the beaches and memorial was incredibly moving! Seeing the D-Day Beaches should be on everyone''s bucket list! I highly recommend this tour!
Feedback on 11/3/2011 from Marcelo
My sugestion is that the D day tour spent too much time at the cemetery and too few time to lunch and so scarce time at the Caen museum. I would take 2/3 of the time from the cemetery and divide it between Arromanche (where we had a quick lunch) and the museum at Caen. The guide was OK, the tour was a good experience, for people like me who likes history.
Feedback on 10/27/2011 from linda
Our Normandy tour was excellent. The van picked up up promptly at 6:30 AM and we headed to the coast. The guide was very well informed on D-Day and WWII, making our trip insightful. I would highly recommend this tour.
Feedback on 10/26/2011 from Kay
It was wonderful. I regret that I have forgotten our guide''s name. He was great. Made each of us feel special. There was one young lady on the tour who had been away from her home in Australia for weeks and seemed to be missing her family. Our guide seemed to make sure she wasn''t alone as the rest of us paired off to wander the sites where we stopped. Very thoughtful of him!
Management response :

Sebastian was great. The tour was was very good and interesting. The village @ Swords Beach was perfect.
The only complaint...the van was too small!
I''d definitely do the tour again, Thank you.
Feedback on 9/5/2011 1 from Maggie
We considered taking the train to Normandy and hiring a tour guide once there, but ultimately the Paris-Trip option was the best choice, both logistically and economically. It was so convenient -- we were picked up at our hotel in Paris and traveled with a small group of only three other couples. Our tour guide grew up in Normandy and was extremely knowledgeable of the area, including its current culture as well as its historical role in WWII. I plan to recommend this tour to any friends and family traveling to Paris!

Paschal was great, very knowldegable. I would have also liked to visit St. Mereglais to see the church steeple.

Merci for your feedback and your word about pascal.
Regarding Sainte Mère Eglise, it is not included as it would add almost 60 kilometers to what already is a very long day. But you're right a stop there would be nice. Thank You, Paul

We approved of every aspect of our tour to Normandy and the beaches. The driver was pleasant, polite and with a good sense of humour. He was a good driver, with a good vehicle that put us at ease with his ability and care. He considerately included Juno beach for us when he learned that we were Canadian. He took us to a very good restaraunt for lunch where we enjoyed fresh mussels. He was flexable in seting the itinery as much as possible and returned us to our hotel in a timely fashion. I will give the tour a five star rating.

The D-Day landing sites tour was a beautiful and emotional experience, the fulfillment of a dream. Our guide, Richardo, was very knowledgeable and informative and it was a day of rare beauty weather-wise. We loved our tour of the Normandy Beaches. Our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. The views and scenery were breathtaking. The different historical sites we visited invited a variety of emotions - from surprise to reverence. We definitely recommend it to anyone remotely interested in WWII and/or the great significance of that battle. Be prepared for a long day and make sure to confirm your pick-up time the day before - don''t assume it''s the same as what was printed on the confirmation since schedules change slightly based on the number and location of tourists.
Feedback on 5/20/2011 from Zackary
Our guide gave us a lot of good information about the sites and tips on what to look at while we were at each place.

My husband, son, and I all loved our trip to Normandy. One main reason was our guide, Julian. His knowledge and passion for Normandy made our trip very interesting. We also really enjoyed seeing the country and small towns as we traveled to the sites on the tour. Our Normandy Tour was exceptional. The guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining (Ricardo). Not only did he tell us about Normandy but he also told us much of the war history of France. It is a long tour but well worth it. He was also kind enough to take us Canadians to Juno beach. Thank You

Excellent tour, excellent, knowlable guide. Able to see enough, good lunch. Would have liked more time in museum but was satisfactory.
Feedback on 10/30/2012 from Lynn
Really enjoyed the tour. I do have one suggestion, though: there needs to be MORE TIME at the American cemetary and museum. One hour is not enough. There could be less time at the Caen museum in order to give more time to the other one.
Feedback on 10/5/2012 from Roger
Great tour, good value and the pace wasn''t too fast or too slow. Rupert our guide did a fine job explaining the significance of locations and history of the invasion. He did well driving in the rain the entire way there, also. We were given plenty of time at the American Cemetary to walk around and appreciate where we were and the sacrifices made. My one disappointment is that we didn''t see St. Mere Eglise. LD
Feedback on 10/2/2012 from James
Fantastic trip. Pick up at our hotel was right on time 06:40 by our private guide Julian. We were two couples and stopped at one other nearby hotel and picked up two other couples and proceeded out of the city to Normandy. The van was tight having the eight seat capacity. We made a stop about an hour out had some coffee use the restroom and received a briefing as to the days agenda where we were going and how they related to the events of the actual invasion of June 6th 1944. Julian was pleasant and a very good driver navigating the highways and even the smallest streets along the trip. We went to all the stops and he provided excellent and knowledgeable descriptions of the events that occurred. Overall a very good day, well planned out and executed. There are other ways to do the trip but the convenient and private start to finish aspect is well worth the price. A must do and back at your hotel in time for dinner and continue to enjoy the city of lights for the rest of the evening.

Great tour. Knowledgable tour guide who spoke excellent English. Hotel pick-up was on-time and the drive to Normandy was very educational. I learned more about French history in 2 hours than in a semester of school. The only problem was too little time was actually spent on Omaha Beach. would have enjoyed some time to walk the beach.
I would highly recommend this tour.

great day. It was very moving and our guide was knowledgeable.
Feedback on 7/21/2012 from Bonnie
Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. He easily conversed about the little towns/villages we traveled through and navigated the tight roads like a pro. Seeing Point du Hoc and the beaches brought to life the realities of what the soldiers faced that fateful day. American Cemetery was sombering but a beautiful tribute to all those who gave their lives. We did not dawdle there, but there was simply not enough time to see the site. Drove by Omaha Beach and only stopped for 2 minutes to get some pictures. Caen Peace Memorial was inspiring but there was too much time allotted for it that could have been better used on the beach sites. All in all it was a good day.
Feedback on 6/5/2012 1 from Randy Dempsey
The tour was excellent. Our guide, Francis picked us up timely at our apartment. The min-tour was 4 couples, a nice size to be able to communicate with the guide. Francis was very knowledgeable about the content of the tour and expressed himself well. The sites were of significant historical events and the time at the American Cemetery was something I had wanted to do for sometime. It is beautiful, serene, and moving.
Feedback on 5/24/2012 from Dorie
We spent about a week in Paris and wanted to visit the D-Day Beaches while in France. The mini-van tour provided an efficient and stress-free adventure. Our guide, Fabrese, was energetic, knowledgeable, and pleasant. We stayed on schedule without being overly rushed. He provided a running commentary during the drive and included a nice rest stop on the way. I would agree witho other reviewers that, unless there are members of the tour who request extra time at the Cemetery, you might allow more time at the museum. The lunch at Arromanches was excellent! We loved the drive through the country too. I don''t think we could have accomplished as much if we had tried to do this on our own in a day. Worth the cost!

Pierre was our tour guide, who we feel could have been more personable to entire tour group. He seemed to be in a hurry all day and made the statement that he needed to get back to Paris for his girlfriend''s surprise birthday party that he was planning that evening. Other than our guide, we enjoyed the Normandy tour.
Feedback on 5/18/2012 from Leigh
The Normandy trip was most enjoyable. Our guide was flexible and allowed the group to make decision on how long to stay at the different stops and when to stop for lunch. The size of the group worked well for a day trip. I would definitely recommended to others. The pick up and drop-off at our hotel was so convenient.

The tour was great, the guide was very knowledgable. I would have liked to spend more time at the American Cemetery. One hour was not enough time to appreciate and take in everything the visitors center had to offer and to walk the grounds.
Feedback on 11/6/2011 from Alan
Pierre was an excellent host and guide. He was very knowledgeable and the tour was well conducted. It allowed enough time to see the main sites although we felt too much time was devoted to the Caen peace memorial to the exclusion of maybe some other beach sites. Apart from that we had a thoroughly enjoyable day and would recommend it to any one. Thank you also for turning on the beautiful weather for us!!!

Thank you for accomodating me regarding car sickness if way in the back of the minivan.
Feedback on 11/3/2011 from joan m moffatt
Loved the tour and the driver was excellent. Only suggestion was that more time could have been spent at Normandy and no time really necessary at the Caen Peace exhibit. Better to go to the town of Caen or a real site of interest, such as the Bayeaux tapestry.

I and my daughter enjoyed the trip greatly. For me, who lived through the WW2, this was a moving and emotional experience.
I was not pleased however that you were unwilling to pick me up at my hotel and required that I go to the hotel where my daughter was staying. This cost me 25 euros by taxi because of the need to pre-arrange the taxi for the early morning trip. I cannot understand your unwillingness to pick me up at my hotel something you would have done if another person from that hotel would have wanted to go on the trip to Normandy.

First let me thank you for taking the time to share with us about your experience with Paris Trip. I was glad to read that you enjoyed your trip to Normandy. It is indeed a moving and emotional experience to walk in the steps of those who took part in the landing. As far as the extra pick-up is concerned, I do understand your feeling, however you should rest assured that we would not have added an extra pick-up for anybody else willing to book the tour - if we had had extra seats available-. We try not to add too many pick-up for 2 reasons, driving time for the driver/guide and our guests' comfort. I thank you again for your time and I hope you'll grant us another opportunity to serve you on your next visit to Paris.

Thought the the normandy tour was great the only issue i had personally was the lack of time to do other things other than that the trip was quite good

We had a wonderful and informative trip with Julian. There was only my husband, myself and one other man, so it was like having a very personalized tour. Our only complaint was we wished he had not driven so fast in the little villages. They are so beautiful and we would have enjoyed seeing the scenery in a little bit slower pace.

We went on the D Day tour. Honoray (spelling) did an excellent job. He was very friendly and provided information on topics other than WWII. I would recommend to others. Thanks

The tour was very well done. Your driver, Rupert, was friendly, courteous and well-informed. He is also an excellent driver. The stop for lunch was fine. The only draw-back was that we had to leave Paris so early in the morning (6:30AM). I understand the need because of the two-hour drive but there must be some way it could start a bit later in the day. It was difficult for me as I am 82 years old .
Management response :
Thank you very much for your note. I'll make sure to let Rupert know about it. As far as the early departure is concerned, I do understand that 6.30 AM is an early start. As you said this is a little bit more than 2 hours drive to get to Caen, then an extra 45 to 50 minutes to reach Point du Hoc which is the furthest point on our itinerary. That's why we need to leave early, but above all this is to beat the traffic. After a certain time (after 7.00 am) the circulation conditions around Paris are very bad. I am glad you had a nice day and I hope we'll have the opportunity to welcome you again. Best Wishes

We were picked up at the hotel on time, the day was well scheduled, and the guide was well versed. I would definitely go on another tour by your company. The only downside thing was that the driving was irratic and I would have gotten car sick had I not been sitting in the front seat. It was a trip worth taking and I would recommend it to anyone.
Feedback on 5/12/2011 from Alfred
I enjoyed the tour very much. The driver was early at the pick-up point. I did not have to wait at all. The pick-up point was a little far from my residence. I stayed in Vanves. The pick-up point was at the Hotel Scribe. The driver was very friendly and knowledgeble. He got us in and out of the resturant quickly. We had time to do our own thing. I had a great time.
Feedback on 5/10/2011 from Jane
The trip was very good and the guide knew a great deal about the country and the battles. I wish we could have stayed longer at the American cemetery. It was a very good day, I enjoyed it tremendously.

Wonderful tour of the Normandy D-Day Beaches for our small group by Francis. It was an early start (pickup at 6:20 am!) but worth it to get out to the countryside. Francis was very knowledgeable and receptive to questions. We made several stops at various landing areas and the American Cemetery, and spent the afternoon at the memorial museum at Caen, where we could have spent the whole day! But, it was just enough - Francis pointed out the "must see" areas before he dropped us off at the museum and we were just able to get through them to meet him on time. An unforgettable day!

Tour was great. Our guide Francois was very knowledgeable about the history of D-Day. I learned a lot more about France''s role in WWII and how it got to the point where the U.S. needed to liberate France. I enjoyed learning the French perspective, since growing up I only learned the U.S. perspective. Trip was hard to fit into one day, but if you''re going to do it this is the company to choose.

The Normandy tour was very good and the guide also was good the place where we stop to eat was not to good. Over all we would use this tour service again

Normandy is an amazing place. The tour was well organized not as informative as I would have liked. The musee at Caen was one of the best collections relating to world war II and full of artifacts and video presentations. overall it was a very good tour.
Feedback on 11/10/2011 from Lee
Our guide, Ricardo, was very informative and cordial. In order to accomodate everyone in the van we visited Juno Beach as well as the Canadian cemetary, which left us feeling a bit rushed at the other sites, especially Pointe Du Hoch.
Feedback on 11/3/2011 from Alan
Our guide was very efficient but cold and somewhat boring. He had a habit of talking to the group while walking away from us making him hard to hear, often when thr full group was not present.
Feedback on 7/28/2011 from Paul
The tour was good, but for us, there could have been more guided detail at the sites.

Based on recommendations I had read, we chose to take our granddaughter on a Paris-trip.com trip to Normandy, but we were sorely disappointed with the guide Pasquel. He acted irritated if we asked him any questions, and he did not make the trip at all kid friendly except to show our granddaughter a picture of Omaha Beach when the tide was out. He spoke in a monotone with little emotion. He acted as if he resented taking the eight of us in the minivan on tour. It was really disappointing, especially since it is VERY expensive. We expected a lot more for 485 euros. The one positive thing he did do was stop at a German cemetery for 15 minutes on my request so I could point out how different the aura of the two cemeteries is. He did it, but all of us agreed that he acted irritated by the request. Some of the reviews I had read before choosing this tour pointed out how some guides really make an effort to interact with the kids. Heck, Pasquel didn''t even interact with the adults. More time at the cemetery and a faster, less expensive place for lunch would also improve the tour. We were not alone in feeling this way. All eight of us felt Pasquel''s humorlessness. The logistics - being on time, supplying a reliable van, seeing the sights we were supposed to see - were all fine, but his interaction with us was not good and did not make it an enjoyable experience.
Feedback on 4/16/2011 from Ross
Pickup and delvery service is the best. The non-guided tour lets us skip around, and that was good. Too many groups of kids blocked our views of some important parts of the exhibits. The guides should stand off to the side so we can see the exhibits also.
Feedback on 9/22/2012 from David Hunerberg
Frankly, we were very disappointed in the transportation, and thus the experience. Putting six large people in a van that clearly was not large enough was just wrong. Accordingly, when our two spouses saw what they were going to endure for six hours of auto time they opted out.
You need to address the accommodations for your clients. we were quite willing to pay for a good experience, but not pack into a can.
The driver, who seemed to be bored with the whole day, and let us know that he was just a day contractor, was not accurate in MANY of his comments.
The weather was fine, however!
Management response :
Dear Mr Hunerberg,
Thank you very much indeed for taking the time to share with us about your experience. Your feedback is valuable to us. Unfortunately I was really sorry to hear about your complaint as well as read your comments regarding the transportation. Most of our fleet of vehicles are 9 seaters (1 seat for the driver guide and 8 seats for the clients). We have been running our tours with the following vehicles (Volkswagen Caravelle as well as Mercedes Vito) for many years and the space allocated in the vehicles do respect international standard. Most companies in France run tours with similar vehicles and the different feedback we do receive about this specific tour (Normandy D-Day) as well as other tours comes from guests who were transported in these vehicles. I am really sorry to see that you felt like beeing packed in a can but please note that at the end you were only 6 in the van and not 8, you spouses having cancelled the tour on the spot. As far as the guide is concerned he is an asset to our company but I will make sure to address the matter with him. He is not just a day contractor and has been working with us for more than 5 years. He does speak good english and is a fully licenced guide. I am sure though that he will do everything to fix his comments to make them more accurate for future tours.
I am glad to read that the weather was fine.
Thank you very much again for having taken the time to tell us about your day with us.
Best Regards, Paul

Our day trip to Normandy was saved by the location. The 2+ hr ride with 8 adults plus driver in a minivan was less than comfortable. (3 200+lb adult males in the farthest back seat!!) The driver gave some background on the way, but at the sites, we were pretty much left on our own, whereas we saw other groups with guides and a narrative. Also, there were too many stops, making each individual stop seem rushed. A shame, considering the importance of D-Day.
Feedback on 3/16/2011 from Carol
Poor trip. Our guide was awful, very quiet, hard to understand and acted like he was disinterested and did not want to be there. Would not recommend him for any trip. Not nearly worth the money we spent. Next time we will request Julian, our guide for Versailles who was excellent. We were so looking forward to this trip and it was a waste of money, could have been so much better.
Management response :
Thank you very much for your feedback Carol. I am sincerely sorry to hear about your bad experience of your Normandy D-Day Tour with our guide. I will let him know about it and will talk to him about this matter to avoid this to happen again.
